I like that this site is broken down by your child's age ranging from ages 3 through the teenage years. Not only do you learn how to keep children safe online, but you also learn about video games that are age appropriate along with tech hardware and software and so much more.
The Online Mom is also on Twitter constantly sharing tidbits so she makes a great person to follow. She hosts Twitter parties on Wednesday evenings starting at 9pm and lasting until 10pm est. Great information and a chance to win some awesome prizes. I would like to personally invite all of you this upcoming Wednesday when the prizes that are being given away are an XBox 360 and a Wii. Look for and use the hashtag #theonlinemom to take part. I really do hope you'll check it out. There's so much to learn.

As you may or may not know, we recently moved into our new place. We only have carpeting in our living room, and while shopping for household items, my husband suggested we get the Eureka stick vac. I liked the fact that it could be used on floors as well and so I agreed. Well turns out it wasn't powerful enough. I had to roll over things two and three times in many cases before it would end up in that canister. So off we went to exchange it for something that would get the job done for us.
While waiting for the greeter to get things situated as they do for returns, we engaged in conversation, as she was curious as to why I returned it. I said, well it just doesn't pick up right and she says, well I have a Dirt Devil and it's great. So I took her word for it and decided on a rechargeable dirt devil.
We brought it home to find out the initial charge needs to be 24 hours. Ended up sweeping up that night, but when the next night came, it was time to see what that baby could do. Oh yes, it was everything I wanted in a stick vac until a day or so later when I had a little more of a mess to clean up around our first floor area. The power started to drain. I so hoped it was just this particular vacuum cleaner. Maybe bad battery cells.
So I made a call to customer service and explained what was going on. The gentleman explained to me that it was only meant for a quick job. 11-13 minutes quick. I can't tell you how bad this felt. Beside this vacuum being a little heavier than i'd expect for a stick vac, i'd really fallen for it, but i'm a mommy with 4 young ones and I need this several times a day to last more like 15-20 minutes. So you see, if it could have been a little bit longer that it lasted, my relationship with this otherwise wonderful vacuum cleaner would have lasted.
Parting will be such unsweet sorrow :(.

I wouldn't mind if this site was available years ago. I married a sailor and moved away from home. The only home that i'd known my entire life prior to leaving and this would have been a great way to know what was happening back home. While away, I myself had 2 children and this would have been a great way to share. My husband was released from the Navy for health reasons, but now I know about this great site and can check out what's going on with what was my home away from home during the time that he was enlisted.
Check out Xtra Xtra for yourself. Find out what's going on around your community or back home and be sure to let them know what's going on with you while you're at it.
I like that fact that you can access it from anywhere. So if you're traveling, no worries. It's also portable. Yes, you can access your to do list from your mobile device. I mean how many times have you written a list of things to do and misplaced it? Well with Cozi that problem is solved.
Another great feature which I just found out about is their Family Journal. This is a place where you can capture family moments and photos and share them with your loved ones. My children are always saying or doing things that give me a good laugh or just make my mouth drop wide open. The moments that I want to remember and Cozi's Family Journal is here to make this possible.
So how much is to join Cozi? Free! You get all these awesome features at no cost. There's also a great promotion going on at their site where if you join you can get $10 off of an 8x8 photobook at Shutterfly. I've created a photobook with them before and the quality is outstanding. So check out Cozi for yourself, do become a member and simplify your life.
*This is an unsolicited/unpaid promotion for Cozi. Just something i'm sharing because in my opinion it can help make your life easier.
1. Planning ahead is critical. Prepare a grocery list ahead of time, keeping in mind the cooking times involved. Buy grocery items that are going to allow you to take shortcuts such as pre-shredded lettuce for things like tacos and pre-minced garlic.
2. Think Sandra Lee. If you don't know who i'm talking about google her name and you should see something regarding her show Semi Homemade. Great ideas for using some pre-made store items along with fresh items that are going to cut back on the time it takes to get hot and delicious meals to your table. Use this concept to come up with your own semi-homemade meals. I'd also like to recommend 30 minute meals with Rachel Ray. Two people you should get to know if you don't already.
3. It's ok to cheat sometimes. This includes leftovers, having salad night and there are healthy freezer meals which require little attention or a little bit of your time. Don't be afraid to ask someone for help. Many hands make light work and can also make your work more pleasant having someone to talk with while you're working.

I received this Glade candle from their Fragrance Collection, and though I wasn't asked to review it, I wanted to let all of you, my readers, know what I think of it. Three words "I'm in love!"
The particular scent that I received is the Jasmine and Wild Orchid. It's a soy based candle that comes in a nice little jar with an attractive silver top. It's a 10 oz candle and it lasts for a long time.
When I opened the box that it arrived in, it wasn't long before I noticed that it was soy based, and that got me to wondering what the significance of it being soy based was. So I took it upon myself to do a little research and i'd love to share what i've learned with you if you don't already know. Soy based is better for us, our health as well as the environment. Soy based candles burn cleaner and longer. The last point I would like to mention is that soy candles throw well, meaning that they have a stronger and longer lasting smell.
I've enjoyed every time i've lit it, and yes i've lit it several times for hours at a time and still have a good bit of burn time left with it. The scent of it is inviting, relaxing and indulgent all at the same time. The scent hasn't faded, it's been equally as pleasant every time. So if you're ever out candle shopping, I would love to personally recomend a soy based candle from the Glade Fragrance Collection.
*While I did receive this candle for free, I was not asked to do this blog post nor was I paid or compensated for it otherwise. I just want to share a great product that I personally appreciate.

My 1 year old. Yes folks he's one. Could you tell with the beard and mustache and all? If you want to see what he really looks like scroll down to the bottom of the next post!
The picture of my baby with the striped shirt is the first time I caught him "stealing" milk duds. The second was at a birthday party. As you can see chocolate makes baby really happy. And the one where he's sitting on the couch is the most recent. Night before last. Yes that's a box of milk duds that he's "stolen" again. I know you can't tell, but it was dark; I mean lights completely out bed time. The flash on the camera, though, was so bright that it appears otherwise. He thinks that's funny and well I have to laugh too.
The two are of my daughter. Trust me she's normal, though from the one of her screaming it may be hard to tell.
Isn't it always fun to imagine what your boys will look when they're little men? I brought that a little more into perspective. Always get a kick out of it.
And the last picture was a moment I caught of them being, well normal.
